The Spoken Word Porn-a-thon: What is it, and why?
In July of 2023, Athena and the crew were trying to come up with ways to raise money for renovations at Harold’s Haunt. At some point during the brainstorming process, Athena made a joke about reading porn for money. and then people got excited about it. So Athena reluctantly decided to make it happen.
Much to Athena’s dismay, the event was a HUGE success. The bar was PACKED with people who wanted to watch Athena read smut aloud. the event sold out AND THEN SOME. And it sold out the second time we did it too. So now we can’t stop.
The Spoken Word Porn-a-thon is now a fundraiser for the Queer Resource Center of Millvale. Athena hates it. And that’s what makes it a true delight.
If you enjoy smutty fanfiction and watching someone read it aloud in shock and horror, this event is FOR YOU. You will laugh until your ribs rattle. You will cry tears of mirth. You don’t want to miss this amazing event.
Here’s how it works:
We take submissions for story ideas from you, our beloved customer! The more likely a story prompt is to make Athena miserable, the more likely it will get chosen! If your story suggestion gets chosen, you can choose to make it reality by paying to have Ringa write it. Ringa is Very Good at writing smutty fanfiction and is excited to use their English degree for such a worthy cause.
What’s the vibe?
Imagine hanging out with your besties and reading absolutely hilarious and ridiculous steamy smut together and laughing about it.
Except that in this case, the smut is actually really well written and the hilarious part is that Athena is just SHOCKED because she doesn’t read smut or fan fiction at all.
What else happens?
In addition to an evening of comedy, we’ll also have NSFW-themed drinks available from Harold’s Haunt! There will also be a raffle to raise more $$ for the Queer Resource Center. There are also usually balls for sale. Sometimes the balls have tiny penises inside them.
