Join us for a song circle to nourish our spirits through communal singing. (We will be singing Jewish songs, but all are welcome. You don’t need to be Jewish to participate.) The format is an open song-sharing circle, where anyone is invited to teach a song and sing it in community. Nigguns (wordless melodies) are welcome.

How long and when? That depends. Maryasha will bring one song to share. Hoping others will bring songs also. We will meet for as little as 15 minutes and up to an hour.

Accessibility: The space is outdoors, wheelchair accessible, with accessible bathrooms. The park has some benches/bleachers/picnic tables depending on exactly where we choose to gather, but please bring a chair if you want to be sure of a seat.

We will be outdoors so for the most part, masking is optional. If the weather is iffy, please bring a mask, as we may want to be closer together under a shelter. If you are feeling ill, please stay home and take care of yourself (and us!)

✨ Community Guidelines (With a shout out to @letmypeoplesing)

▪️We are co-creating singing space together. For many of us this is new. There is no expectation of a particular level of skill. For some of us there is a vulnerability that comes with opening our voices.

▪️Let’s create a welcoming space for all of the sounds that want to come out without judgment around the quality.

▪️Share what you know about where a song comes from.

▪️Allow for silence at the end of a song.
It is on each of us to know that everything we’re bringing is offered with authenticity and respect.

▪️We have a lot of leaders and a lot of learners. Let’s cultivate both and create spaciousness for a diversity of voices.

▪️Allow everyone who wants to share a song to share before offering a second song.

▪️We are a community of many backgrounds. Let’s stay curious about each other and avoid making assumptions.
