Ratzon’s Anti-Zionist Minyan: Rosh Hashanah & Kabbalat Shabbat

October 4 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

As Rosh Hashanah approaches, we hold both the grief of the present moment and the promise of a new year. Join us on Oct. 4th / the 2nd of Tishrei for an anti-zionist tashlich ritual, abridged shofar and kabbalat shabbat services, and a potluck dinner featuring simanim (symbolic foods for Rosh Hashanah).

Want to help out?

If you’re interested in helping with setup, leading a section of the service, etc. let us know in the RSVP form (link in bio), and someone will be in touch.

Accessibility: More info TBA via email.

We’ll have some chairs and blankets for sitting, but we’d love for people to bring more. Masking is optional outside, and we’ll have some extra masks for people who would like them.

We’ll have notecards and pens for people to label their potluck dish ingredients and allergens.

(Want to suggest a future minyan venue that’s wheelchair accessible, free or cheap, and anti-zionist friendly? Reach out!)

Potluck & rides: The week of the event, we’ll send out a spreadsheet where you can sign up to bring something to the potluck, request a ride, or offer a ride. Feel free to email ratzonpgh@gmail.com if you have any questions or other access needs.

Mir veln iberlebn tsiunizm — we will outlive zionism! 🍉🕯️✨

[ID: A graphic with digital illustrations of olive branches in the background. Text reads: “Ratzon’s Anti-zionist Minyan
Rosh Hashanah and Kabbalat Shabbat. Lovingly Jewish, unequivocally anti-zionist.
As we hold & reflect on the grief of this past year, we invite you to join us in welcoming the new Jewish year. We hope that this time will instill in us the promise of a world closer to repair, free of genocide, occupation, & oppression of all kinds. A world with liberation for all.
during this gathering, we will partake in an anti-zionist tashlich ritual, abridged shofar & kabbalat Shabbat services, & finish with a communal meal; a vegetarian potluck featuring simanim (symbolic foods for Rosh Hashanah). Friday, October 4th. 6 – 9:30 PM. RSVP for location info at bit.ly/razmrosh104.” In the lower left corner of the graphic, there is a red digital illustration of a plate with Rosh Hashanah ritual foods (round challah, pomegranate, apples, & honey), and in the center right of the graphic there is a purple digital illustration of Shabbat candles.
