Seven years ago the queer community in Pittsburgh woke to ready for our city’s Pride celebration and were horrified to see the news that 49 members of the queer community in Orlando, FL had been senselessly massacred in an act of unspeakable hatred and violence just hours before.
Join us on June 12th as we remember the 49 individuals lost and call for an end to violence and hatred.
This event is being hosted by Beechview Pride and Sparkledragon’s Magical Emporium.
Remarks from elected officials and spiritual leaders at 7:00PM. Light refreshments will be available.
About the venue:
Alton Field is a large athletic field in the Beechview Neighborhood of Pittsburgh, directly behind Beechwood Elementary School. It is an 8 minute walk from the Westfield trolly stop on the Red Line.
