Bethany is not only an ally but she’s a genuine advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. The first piece of legislation Bethany passed in her role on Allegheny Council was banning the use of gay conversion therapy in Allegheny County. Bethany has also brought attention to dangerous conditions in the jail, won paid sick leave for all workers, banned fracking in County parks, and funded programs to prevent eviction.
