February Film Discussion: Paris is Burning

February 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Steel City Queer Film Club is a Pittsburgh meetup group for fans of LGBTQ+ cinema!

For our February meetup, we’ll be discussing the 1990 documentary film, Paris Is Burning. Directed by Jennie Livingston, this iconic and intimate chronicle of the ballroom scene in 1980s New York City is one of the landmark films of queer cinema and the winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

We’ll be meeting on Sunday, February 18th at 2pm at City Kitchen in Bakery Square.

As the name of the group suggests, all of the chosen movies for our club will feature queer characters, actors, directors, and/or writers. We’ll each watch the selected film on our own time and then meet up to discuss the film!

All LGBTQ+ folks and allies welcome! If you love cinema and want to discuss our film of the month, we’re eager to have you as part of our group!
