Conjuring Queer Love: Love Conjure Ethics, History, & Techniques — Beyond the Hetero

May 29 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

When there isn’t the love a person is seeking in their life, that is a sickness. In the spirit of mental, emotional, and spiritual health of the queer community, this class was created to celebrate and share the knowledge of effective conjure for queer love, sex, and romance from the perspective of traditional Rootwork.

The tradition known as Hoodoo, Rootwork, & Conjure has many answers to supply to today’s queer community if we merely scratch its surface and look beyond the queerphobic bias of many historians. Rootwork presents us with material and workings that can be tailored to suit any preference for love and sex.

Not all queer and gay people are the same, and their desires are also unique. The attraction that a lesbian woman feels is very different from that of a gay man. Desire breaks down further into subtypes and preferences.

Within the rich tradition of Hoodoo, there are specific workings to draw butches, men with money, true love, heartfelt marriage proposals, kink relationships, and even clandestine affairs. For anyone on the asexual spectrum, love can be drawn without sex, and for the world’s players (of any gender), all manner of hookups can be drawn without love.

Ultimately, this class is about getting to the root of why the love you seek isn’t in your life and empowering you to remedy that illness. It is our wish that you leave the presentation healed through learning history, and able to do practices that help you. Phoebe has a passion for spreading beauty, improving the world, and creating doors to possibility for the lonely.

Class is $35. The Zoom class link will be emailed to you upon your paid registry. Spaces are limited to 50.

Presenter Bio:
Phoebe Hildegard Finch is a traditionally trained conjurer, card reader, and writer with a deep interest in medico-magical herbalism. A lifelong herbalist, her work with plants is the loamy heart of her craft, anchoring the arcane in the physical. She hails from a long line of gardeners and has completed two apothecary apprenticeships with practicing medical herbalists. As a legacy student of old-testament conjure worker Professor Charles Porterfield, and a famously angry lipstick lesbian, Phoebe Hildegard does not judge anyone for their desires and is uniquely poised to teach this class, which is welcoming to all sexual preferences and gender identities. She currently resides in Denton, Texas.
