The Chatham University MFA in Creative Writing program presents the inaugural event in its Appalachian Writer series: Neema Avashia will read from her memoir Another Appalachia: Coming Up Queer and Indian in a Mountain Place, as well as from more recent work. The reading will be hosted by MFA and undergraduate students in Dr. David Blackmore’s Appalachian Literature course.
The reading will take place on Thursday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mellon Board Room at Chatham University Shadyside campus in Pittsburgh 15232. The Mellon Board Room is located in the lower level of the Mellon Center (close to the Chatham pond) and can be accessed from Woodland Road or Chapel Hill Road. Parking is available on Chapel Hill Road or in the parking lot behind the Chatham Library.
