An Evening of Collective Mourning — Tisha b’Av with RAZM (Ratzon’s Anti-Zionist Minyan)

Join Ratzon’s Anti-Zionist Minyan in observance of Tisha b’Av (the 9th of the Hebrew Month of Av), commemorating the saddest day on the Jewish calendar, a magnet for catastrophes. We will begin with an introduction to Tisha b’Av, followed by a traditional chanting/reading of Eicha (the Book of Lamentations), in Hebrew and English. Between chapters, members of our anti-zionist Jewish community will offer reflections on grief past and present, Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians, (anti-)zionism, and (anti-)fascism. Throughout the night, we will welcome and hold together moments of quiet and of nigunim (wordless melodies). The space will be respectful of those fasting on Tisha b’Av and will also offer room for folks to partake in healing herbal tea remedies if feeling called.

Accessibility: The Glitterbox Theater is wheelchair accessible, offers two non-gendered bathrooms, and a water fountain. Folding chairs & floor seating. *We are asking folks to kindly mask, we will have some at the door.* The Glitterbox Theater has nearby street parking and is accessible via bus lines 61C, 53L, 52L, 57, and 64 (with a 10 minute walk under the Homestead Grays Bridge).
